It’s getting posted a bit later than usual, but I’m finally getting around to revealing the results of this week’s SB Nation Reacts results for your viewing pleasure. Let’s get to it here, shall we?
This week, we wanted to know which member of the Minnesota Vikings backfield committee was going to get the most touches this upcoming season. While there were three primary options for everyone to choose from, when all of the votes were tallied, the majority of folks settled quite solidly on one of those three options above the other two.
Of those who responded to our poll, a full 63% believe that Jordan Mason will get the most touches. . .a combination of carries and receptions. . .of the team’s three primary running backs this season. Aaron Jones came in a very distant second with 22%, while rookie Demond Claiborne found himself in third place with 13% of the vote. Somehow, 2% of our respondents believe that another back is going to wind up leading the team in touches this season. Maybe we’re expecting a big season from Max Bredeson as he steps into the shoes of the retired C.J. Ham or something.

Honestly, Mason is probably the right answer here, even though, as we detailed when we presented the question earlier in the week, he really doesn’t offer a whole lot out of the backfield as a pass catcher. If we’re being honest, I think the Vikings would like Claiborne to be the guy who winds up getting the most touches, but that’s going to be entirely dependent upon how quickly he picks up the offense and can force his way onto the field. He might have to make an impact on special teams first, which may mean trying to displace Myles Price, who had a solid 2025 season. A lot of people, myself included, thought the Vikings needed to do something to address the running back position this offseason, but the selection of Claiborne in the 2026 NFL Draft was really the only thing they did along those lines. Will it be enough?
