Bishop McNamara (Md.) has vaulted to the No. 1 spot in the SC Next top 25 power rankings after a 30-day period in which the program defeated multiple top teams — Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) and Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) at the Nike TOC, then-No. 1 Ontario Christian (Calif.) at Hoophall.
Led by 2027 SC Next 60 No. 14 Qandace Samuels, 2027 point guard Nyair McCoy and 2028 guard Jaylah King, Bishop McNamara uses a gritty defensive minded approach that applies heavy full court and on-ball pressure.
Iowa-bound McDonald’s All-American McKenna Woliczko (2026 SC Next 100 No. 6), who’s picking up right where she left off after missing the better part of the 2025 calendar year with an ACL injury. Her return to Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) makes the program a legitimate top-3 team.
The Saint James Academy (Va.), in the midst of its first season of high school basketball, has found a flow with 2027 SC Next 60 No. 4 Jezelle Banks leading the way. The program recently got a signature win against DME (Fla.) in Atlantic City, N.J. Jordyn Jackson, a 2026 Maryland signee and another McDonald’s All-American, is the school’s leading scorer at 15 points per game. Another top 2027 recruit, No. 46 Ashley MacCalla, has shown stock-rising tendencies with her defensive prowess and slashing ability.
Bullis (Md.) has fought its way back into the top-10 with a win Saturday night at injury-plagued Long Island Lutheran. Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka, the No. 2 player in the 2027 SC Next 60 class, was spectacular in the game, with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
Sierra Canyon (Calif.) is at full strength again, with South Carolina signee and McDonald’s All-American Jerzy Robinson (2026 SC Next No. 5) playing the most complete basketball of her career. The school will make a run at the CIF championships, competing with usual suspects in the southern division: Ontario Christian and Etiwanda.
