It may have taken eight games, but Mark Vientos home runs are back.
The Mets third baseman launched his first home run of 2025 spring training on Sunday afternoon, sending a Jake Irvin full-count pitch to deep left field to give NY a 2-0 lead over the Washington Nationals.
Vientos burst onto the scene last season, hitting 27 home runs in 111 regular season games. He took his game to the next level during the postseason, coming up in the clutch time after time and hitting five more homers.
The 25-year-old hopes to keep up the momentum and avoid a sophomore slump.
