The Georgia Bulldogs will be taking the stage at the SEC media days event in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday, July 21. Georgia‘s three player representatives are quarterback Gunner Stockton, linebacker Raylen Wilson and center Drew Bobo. Stockton is attending the event for a second straight year. Georgia coach Kirby Smart will also speak with the media.
Georgia enters the 2026 college football season with high expectations. The Bulldogs have won three of the last four SEC championships and have made back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances. However, Georgia has gotten bounced in their first playoff game in back-to-back seasons, so we expect that to be a major talking point.

Another critical thing to watch at SEC media days is Georgia’s health. The Bulldogs had a lot of players out for all or most of spring practice including center Drew Bobo, defensive lineman Jordan Hall, defensive lineman Gabe Harris, safety Kyron Jones, defensive lineman Carter Luckie and linebacker Zayden Walker. Auburn transfer Amaris Williams suffered a torn ACL in the spring and is likely to miss the entire 2026 season. There’s likely more Georgia players dealing with injuries heading into fall camp, but it will be interesting to see how Georgia the previously mentioned players are progressing from their spring injuries.
Speaking of injuries, depth across the SEC will be tested with the conference expanding to nine conference games this season. Last season, Georgia and Alabama were both very beat up when they met in the de facto ninth conference game, the SEC championship.
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton is entering his senior season in Athens. Stockton’s continued development will be a story to watch. The Bulldogs need him to be better in order to win a national championship.
Stockton can’t do it on his own. He’ll need Georgia’s defense to step up in 2026. The Bulldogs must have a better pass rush after finishing last in the SEC in 2025 with 20 sacks. Georgia’s pass rush will have to make due without Amaris Williams.

Georgia got record-breaking production from wide receiver Zachariah Branch last year, but now that Branch is gone Georgia has a lot of questions at receiver. Six of Georgia’s seven leading receivers from 2025 are now on NFL rosters.
