The Sparks led by as many as 15 points after ending the first quarter up 35-20. However, with 23 seconds left on the clock, the Liberty tied things up at 99-all after Sabrina Ionescu hit a tough mid-range jumper.
Jackson, who scored 17 points in the first quarter to get the Sparks rolling, wouldn’t let her efforts go in vain. As time was running out, she asked for the ball from near the basket and powered her way to the rim.
Liberty forward Stephanie Talbot tried her best to make the shot hard for Jackson without fouling her. However, the Sparks rising star made the difficult layup to give the Sparks the 101-99 victory at the buzzer.
