Friday’s are also built for options. How about a triple option?
SMU TAKEOVER?
I’m going to be really honest here… I’m absolutely bamboozled by a tweet by some dude named Scoot McGee (no, I have no idea who is — nor should I). According to this man, who ranked being a “Dallas Insider” like four spots above his family in his X bio, Notre Dame is in for a real surprise when SMU comes to South Bend in the middle of November for a 7:30 game.
Are we being serious here? Has SMU taken over ANY opposing stadium over the past 50 years? Don’t get me wrong — I love the enthusiasm and I really love the optimism. This kind of confidence suggests that SMU thinks they’ll be pretty highly ranked, which feels like a fun night under the Golden Dome.

C’mon Scoot — get serious (can a man named “Scoot” ever be serious though?).
DOES MARCUS FREEMAN NEED TO SIGN A BLOOD OATH?
Despite Marcus Freeman being very public about his desire to stay at Notre Dame in the future and not skip away to the NFL, some people aren’t buying it. At this point I’m not sure Freeman can say anything more (nor should he) and we’re just going to have to accept it without breaking out some wild dark magic binding spell.
BE GRATEFUL?
As someone who openly complains about the lack of nooners on Notre Dame’s schedule every year (hey y’all — I love a good nooner here and there with the right one) I want to make sure you are thankful for Notre Dame’s NBC deal. Ohio State, for example, has been a program that has had to suffer through nooners in big time matchups, and more. Their fans are getting more and more restless about the lack of a good night game (or any night game).
A REALLY BIG DATE
I think things (at least in the preseason) are starting to pinpoint the Notre Dame vs Miami matchup as one of the biggest games of the year. The thing is though, it’s going to be a massive day all over the country. If Notre Dame puts on a real show on a day like this — well it’s going to be fun. Like it’s going to be really fun. It’s still hard to predict where College Gameday might be on this day, but I still think it will end up being at Notre Dame.
