The UFC wrapped an event around Yadong Song on Saturday in his home country, and he came through when it mattered most.
After every other Chinese fighter on the card fell short of getting her or his hand raised at UFC Fight Night 277 at Galaxy Macau, Song (23-9-1 MMA, 12-4-1 UFC) made sure his return to bantamweight after back-to-back flyweight losses was a memorable one. He cinched up a nasty and sneakily fast guillotine choke submission against former flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo (25-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) in the headliner to give China its lone win of the show.

Just because Chinese fighters weren’t winning on the undercard, though, doesn’t mean there was a lack of action. Far from it, in fact. There was plenty of competition for bonus awards – though Song’s was a no-brainer.
