Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham recently started a podcast with her hometown friend-turned-reality star, West Wilson, called “Show Me Something.” Tuesday marked their second episode of the series, where she broke down Indiana’s mid-season hot streak amid superstar guard Caitlin Clark’s absence, discussed her vote for WNBA Rookie of the Year and addressed other topics.

The Fever have won five straight games and eight of their last 10, surely their best stretch of the season. Surprisingly enough, they’ve been winning without Clark, showing their depth with other players stepping up.
Before this season, Indiana signed six-time All-Star forward DeWanna Bonner to a 1-year deal. However, after a lack of fit with the team and limited minutes, she was waived in late June and signed later with the Phoenix Mercury.
During Tuesday’s segment of “Show Me Something,” Cunningham addressed Bonner’s departure and gave her take on how fans reacted.

Cunningham revealed Bonner was a strong veteran presence for her in Phoenix, where the former began her career, offering praise for both the latter’s presence and high level of play. She followed this by justifying the fans’ boos, explaining that they were warranted due to the manner in which she departed from Indiana.
“DB was one of my vets when I was in Phoenix, and like we gathered here into Indiana. And it was kind of a surprise that she was signed to Indiana anyway. And so, we’ll take her in a heartbeat, she’s a Hall of Famer, she’s a hell of a basketball player, can score from anywhere on the court,” said Cunningham. “But she got to Indiana, and she just really wasn’t happy. And I want people to be happy, so that’s why I’m neutral on this one, which a lot of people are surprised about. She’s towards the end of her career, so she deserves her flowers, she deserves to be happy. But I also think that if you’re gonna leave, you’re gonna have to expect getting booed.”
