Sophie Cunningham Doesn’t Back Down in Full-On Fight vs. WNBA After Making New Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Sophie Cunningham is not the type who keeps her feelings to herself. The Indiana Fever star is quite outspoken, and she has no issue expressing her beliefs publicly—even if it gets her in trouble.

This was recently the case for the 28-year-old after she revealed that the WNBA had slapped her with a $500 fine for posting a TikTok video. In the said clip, Cunningham criticized “some refs” by describing them as “stupid,” “slow” and “useless.”

On Wednesday, Cunningham took to social media to expose the league’s punishment, while also taking a shot at the WNBA.

“I got fined $500 for this TikTok 🤣🤣 idk why this is funny to me… like ok 👍🏼 you got it bud! Cause there’s not more important things to be worried about with our league right now,” she wrote.

Cunningham wasn’t done either. The 6-foot-1 guard decided to repost one of the replies to her statement, which further criticized the league’s decision to fine her.

“The endless WNBA war on the people who are bringing attention to their product while protecting the behavior that turns people off NEVER ceases to amaze me,” read the post.

On top of that, the Fever guard also took to TikTok to post another video. In her cryptic post, Cunningham revealed how she’s currently feeling “unbothered,” presumably by this whole issue.

It doesn’t seem likely that Cunningham will receive another fine from the WNBA for her new posts and her continued criticism of the league. However, this just further proves that Cunningham is undoubtedly not the type who backs down from a fight.
