While WNBA fans patiently wait for an update on the 2026 season, Sophie Cunningham kept her audience entertained this week by opening up about her love life.

Cunningham spent the first six seasons of her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury before being traded to the Indiana Fever last offseason. She averaged 8.6 points on 43.2% shooting from the 3-point line this past season. Unfortunately, her first year with the Fever was cut short due to a knee injury.

Fans won’t know where Cunningham is heading in free agency until the WNBA and its players work out a new collective bargaining agreement.

“There’s so much to get into,” Cunningham said on the latest episode of her Show Me Something podcast. “I think a lot of people who are on the outside are like, ‘Just sign it. Your salary increase is four or five times higher.’ But that’s not it at all.”

Cunningham later discussed her personal life on her podcast. She let her fans know that she would never date someone shorter than her.

“I don’t think I’m the right tall person to ask, because I could never date someone shorter than me,” Cunningham said. “Because I’m already big. So, I want someone who is going to make me feel smaller. But there are so many guys who have taller girls! I think people have really good energy, and I love so many people. I just can’t, I would just feel like the man in my relationship.”

For those wondering, Cunningham is listed at 6-foot-1.
