The Indiana Fever’s 74-59 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night was not just any ordinary win.

Without superstar Caitlin Clark, who was out for the third consecutive game with a groin injury, the 8-8 Fever claimed their first WNBA title in franchise history by winning the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final over Napheesa Collier and the 14-2 Lynx.
Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham was invaluable off the bench, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes. She went 3-for-5 from three with a plus-minus of plus-18.
But those were not the numbers on Cunningham’s mind when she recorded a video from the locker room to flex the win on social media to her 1.5 million TikTok followers.

The Commissioner’s Cup final is worth more than a title and a cool trophy to drink out of. A shared prize pool of $500,000 provides a major financial incentive for the members of the winning team.

Cunningham wasted no time sharing the news about her big pay day. “WINNAS hello 30k,” she wrote on a TikTok video with Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Makayla Timpson.
“Perioddddd,” Boston replied emphatically.
Cunningham has made no secret of her hustle on social media lately. In the two weeks since she gained notoriety for defending Clark in a contentious win over the Connecticut Sun, her Instagram and TikTok profiles have both eclipsed 1 million followers.
Sold out jerseys followed, and brand deals were not far behind. Before her locker room celebration video, her last TikTok post was an ad for Ring in which she referenced the “recent events” leading to her overnight fame.
In the context of WNBA salaries, a $30,000 payout would understandably be front of mind as soon as the final buzzer sounded.

Cunningham, 28, is on a one-year, $100,000 contract with Indiana. Her career earnings of $572,780 barely eclipse the total prize pool awarded on Tuesday night.
