The South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach Dawn Staley are still fresh off of their national championship loss against Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies.
After coming up just one win short of another championship, South Carolina is looking to be aggressive and take the next step during the 2025-26 season. To that end, the Gamecocks need to bring in more talent via the transfer portal.

According to a report from Talia Goodman of On3 Sports, Mississippi State transfer Madina Okot is currently visitin with the Gamecocks and Staley. She is coming off of a 2024-25 season where she averaged 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
In addition to her points and rebound averages, Okot registered 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. She also shot 64.9% from the floor.
Standing in at 6-foot-6, the Mumias, Kenya native would be a great addition for Staley and company. She would bring size, scoring, and rebound to the court, but most importantly she could help the team defensively.
