South Carolina women’s basketball sophomore MiLaysia Fulwiley now has her own custom shoes with NBA star Stephen Curry‘s brand.
Fulwiley became the first collegiate athlete to sign with Curry Brand in March 2024 and has since worn versions of Curry shoes to her basketball games. The brand is through Under Amour, which works for Fulwiley as South Carolina is an Under Amour school.
On Sunday, the brand posted the Curry 12 ‘FamLay’ PEs on social media, her new shoes that are garnet and black with nods to her hometown of Columbia.
On the shoe, there is a patch with the state of South Carolina on it that reads “803” which is the telephone area code for Columbia. On the back of one of the heels it says “Mixon,” which is her mother Phea’s last name, and the other has her sister’s initials. On the side are stars and ace of spades for her two dogs, Ace and Star.
When the No. 4 Gamecocks (22-2, 10-1 SEC) played No. 3 Texas in Austin on Sunday, Fulwiley was wearing her custom Currys. The shoes won’t be available to the public for purchase.
South Carolina fell 66-62 and picked up its first conference loss of the season. Fulwiley finished with 13 points and three steals in 21 minutes of action.
