Among the Big Ten teams, Michigan State ranks right near the top in a new power rankings poll from a popular college basketball social media account.
In an updated power rankings poll from College Basketball Report, Michigan State has edged out rival Michigan for the No. 2 spot in the league. The Spartans are only behind Illinois and one spot ahead of rival Michigan in the updated rankings from the popular social media account.

Michigan State has widely been considered a preseason top 10 team, with some like Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports having them in the top five nationally. Illinois has been typically slotted slightly ahead of the Spartans and the Wolverines have slipped a bit in recent weeks to typically being No. 3 in the league. All three teams, though, are consensus top 10 teams nationally in the preseason polls I’ve came across.
