Spring transfer portal opens Wednesday, but Purdue football already busy adding D-line depth

Purdue football added a second MAC defensinve lineman through the transfer portal with Sunday’s commitment from Marcus Moore Jr.

Moore played two seasons at Akron, including collecting 31 tackles in 10 games last season. He entered the portal and initially transferred to Bowling Green. However, he re-entered his name into the portal on March 1.

Purdue added another former Akron defensive lineman, rush end CJ Nunnally IV, during the winter window.

Boilermakers coach Barry Odom said after Saturday’s final spring practice the team would add where it felt it was deficient and also likely replace any outgoing transfers. So far two players have announced their intent to transfer — linebacker Landon Drennan and defensive lineman Logan Jellison.

The spring transfer portal does not officially open until Wednesday. Moore would become the second spring addition, following former Tennessee State linebacker Spencer Ellis.
