Western Kentucky women’s basketball is off to a hot start, and fans have an opportunity to buy discounted tickets.

The Hilltoppers (9-3), who are averaging 76.8 points per game, are 5-0 at home this season.

Fans can buy tickets for $3 as long as the Hilltoppers remain undefeated at home, WKU athletics announced. WKU’s next home game is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against Liberty.

The Hilltoppers have nine home games remaining this season, all against Conference USA opponents.

Around the city: Louisville volleyball and Penn State’s historic national championship

Last Sunday, Penn State volleyball defeated Louisville, 3-1, in the second-most-watched NCAA volleyball championship, averaging 1.3 million viewers.

The championship match peaked at 1.9 million viewers.

The 2024 NCAA Tournament saw a 41% increase year-over-year.

Around the state: Purdue volleyball loses best attackers to Kentucky teams

Kentucky volleyball just picked up a great asset from the transfer portal. Purdue’s Eva Hudson, the Big Ten’s kills leader per set, recently announced her transfer to the Wildcats.

Hudson, a second-team AVCA All-American, recorded 567 kills, averaging 4.81 per set.

Hudson wasn’t the only Boilermaker who transferred to the commonwealth.

Outside hitter Chloe Chicoine recently announced her decision to transfer to Louisville.

She was second on the Boilermakers in kills (363) and a second-team All-Big Ten member.

High school recruiting: Overtime Elite’s Taylen Kinney narrows school list

Louisville and Kentucky basketball are on Overtime Elite basketball star Taylen Kinney’s list of 15 schools.

The Kentucky native is a five-star prospect in the Class of 2026 and the No. 4 point guard in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Kinney played at Newport High School in Kentucky last season and averaged 17.5 points and four rebounds per game.

Bellarmine men’s basketball will visit North Alabama at 7 p.m. Thursday and Central Arkansas at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Bellarmine women’s basketball will host North Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Central Arkansas at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Bellarmine wrestling will visit Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the Southern Scuffle tournament on Saturday and Jan. 5.
