The Golden State Warriors star guard Steph Curry was part of a new-look starting lineup Friday against Sacramento, joining Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Draymond Green, and Kristaps Porzingis.

With the Warriors already locked into the play-in tournament and still searching for the right combinations following Curry’s recent return from injury, the game served as an opportunity to experiment with rotations.

It marked the first time this season that those five players started together, and head coach Steve Kerr sounded encouraged about the potential of the group moving forward, calling it “enticing” and pointing to its versatility, ball-handling, and shooting.

Although Golden State ultimately lost the game, the lineup itself showed promise in a small sample.

In just over eight minutes on the court together, that unit outscored Sacramento 29-16, suggesting it could be a viable option in the higher-stakes play-in setting.

Podziemski was a major bright spot as well, turning in a career-best performance with 30 points, continuing his emergence as a key contributor as the Warriors prepare for postseason play.
