STROUD — The Stratford High School girls basketball team bounced back from a tough loss to local rival Latta with a convincing 67-39 victory over host Stroud in a Class 2A Regional Tournament consolation contest Saturday night.
Coach Mark Savage and company notched their 20th win of the season and faced on Monday for a spot in the Class 2A Area Tournament. Stroud’s season came to an end at 8-16.

Stratford started the game on a 21-10 run and outscored the Lady Tigers 16-9 in the second period to forge a 37-19 halftime lead. Stratford pulled away with a 19-6 surge in the third period.
After not scoring in the loss to Latta, Trinity Bess erupted for a game-high 24 points. She scored 19 points in the first half and made four 3-point baskets.
Callie Sandlin also reached double figures with 11 points and made a pair of 3-pointers. Erin Henderson just missed double digits with nine points and also made a 3-pointer.
Taegan Sanders sank a pair of triples and scored eight points for the Lady Bulldogs. Ryleigh Ardery and Jaelee Korzan both hit 3-pointers for the locals.
Jordyn Neeley paced Stroud with 11 points and made one 3-pointer. Miyah Clark was next with nine points.
Stratford finished 6 of 11 from the free-throw line and the Tigers sank 12 of 16 free shots.
No. 20 Moyers knocks out Roff
VARNUM — The Roff Lady Tigers fell behind early and never could make up the difference in a 54-36 loss to 20th-ranked Moyers in a Class B Regional Tournament contest Saturday night at Varnum High School.
Moyers advanced with a 21-7 record, while the RHS Lady Tigers saw their season end at 13-16.

The MHS Lady Tigers bolted to a 25-11 first-quarter lead and were still ahead 31-16 by halftime. Moyers held a 43-29 lead after three quarters and outscored Roff 11-7 in the final frame.
Emma Hardison led the way for Roff with 16 points. She made one 3-pointer and finished 7 of 10 from the free-throw line. Sophie Eldred also hit double figures with 13 points and knocked down three 3-point baskets. She was also 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.
Jayda Booth paced the MHS Lady Tigers with 19 points. She made one triple and went 6 of 8 from the line. Arayleah Clay made two 3-point shots and scored 15 points for Moyers.
Roff ended up 14 of 22 from the free-throw line and Moyers finished 15 of 24.
Mallori Rogers, Keela Scott, Hardison and Maygan Hill all fouled out for coach Whitney Robertson’s club.
No. 12 Crowder shoots past Stonewall
STONEWALL — After battling No. 12 Crowder toe-to-toe in the first half, the Stonewall Lady Longhorns couldn’t keep pace with the Lady Demons over the final two quarters of a 54-33 setback Saturday night inside the Murphy-Roberts Gymnasium.
Crowder advanced with a 19-3 record, while coach Dillon Monday’s club ends the season at 16-10.

Stonewall trailed 10-7 after the first quarter but led 18-17 after a bucket by Landree Dye late in the second stanza. However, Addison Womack drilled a 3-pointer just before halftime to put the Lady Demons on top 20-18 at the break.
Womack started the third period with another 3-point shot and a triple by Brooklyn Surginer capped an 8-0 Crowder burst to start the third period and push the lead to double digits at 28-18.
After three quarters, Crowder led 39-24.
Following three free throws by Landree Dye, Stonewall got within 39-27 early in the fourth period. But Crowder then went on a 13-2 surge to pull away.
Lilly Wyche was the only Stonewall player to hit double figures, finishing with 12 points. She also had six rebounds and a pair of steals.
Dye was next with nine points and made 4 of 5 free throws and Stonewall’s lone 3-pointer. The Lady Longhorns finished 1 of 15 from beyond the arc.
Alyssa Mosier added eight points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the hosts.
Womack led all scorers with 22 points for Crowder. She sank five 3-pointers and had seven rebounds. Surginer followed with 14 points and nine boards and Alexis Lizik turned in a double-double for the Lady Demons that included 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Crowder out-rebounded Stonewall 35-23.
Asher girls upend Paden
BRAGGS — When the Asher girls met Paden back in November, they came out on the short end of a 40-25 decision. The Lady Indians turned the tables in the playoff matchup between the two teams.
Asher used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the Lady Pirates 48-38 in a Class B Regional Tournament consolation contest Saturday night at Braggs High School.
Coach Lee Reimer’s squad improved to 15-11 on the year and faced Moss Monday night in a regional consolation title game back in Braggs. Asher defeated Moss 52-43 in a Class B District Tournament championship contest a week ago.
Paden’s season came to an end at 19-7.
Asher 48, Paden 38
Asher led just 8-5 after a low-scoring first quarter and the game was knotted at 18-18 at halftime. Asher held a slim 34-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter but ended the contest on an impressive 14-7 run.
Makaylee Herrell led Asher with 17 points and made three 3-point baskets. Makenah Templeton was next with 15 points. She scored six points in the fourth quarter and made 3 of 4 free throws.
Mackenzie Thompson and Delanie Templeton chipped in five points each. Thompson made one 3-point basket and all five of Delanie’s points came from the free-throw line.
Asher finished 11 of 20 overall from the charity stripe while Paden sank 15 of 24 free shots.
Kyra Smith and Brooklyn Cheatwood scored 12 points each to pace the Lady Pirates. Katherine Uhlman followed with 11 points and made her team’s lone 3-pointer.
