Prospective attendees of Super Bowl LIX will have to pay a hefty fee to enter New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome this coming Sunday.
As of this past Sunday, the “get-in price” on Vivid Seats stood at a gaudy $3,346; the median ticket price nearly doubled that number, sitting at $6,304.
Admission to the Super Bowl coming with an expensive price tag is far from a recent phenomenon. According to Vivid Seats’ data, the median ticket price for Super Bowl LIX seven days from kickoff is actually the cheapest of any one-week-out median price for a Super Bowl since 2020.
Super Bowl LIX’s closest counterpart in recent years in terms of one-week-out median pricing? Super Bowl LVII in 2023 ($6,304 to $6,433). Such a similarity in prices perhaps shouldn’t be a shock, given Super Bowl LIX will feature the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles — the same two teams that competed on the sport’s biggest stage two years ago.
The high cost of the New Orleans extravaganza doesn’t stop with the game ticket, either. Airfare for the Big Easy is far from a cheap venture itself, at least not less than two weeks from game day.
According to travel marketplace Hopper’s Big Game Travel Guide, one round-trip plane ticket to New Orleans as of Jan. 28 was averaging $224 from Philadelphia — and $1,064 from Kansas City.
Fans traveling from Philly will be looking to see the Eagles’ first title since 2018, while the Kansas City faithful will hope to bear witness to the first Super Bowl championship three-peat.
