Chloe Williams had 17 points and seven rebounds, leading her team in scoring for the second straight game, but Indiana State fell 83-67 at Marquette in nonconference women’s basketball Tuesday night.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 25-13 lead after a quarter, then put things out of reach with a 31-point third quarter that gave them a 24-point lead heading into the final period.
Indiana State shot just 34% from the field and committed 15 turnovers, enabling Marquette to outscore the Sycamores 22-2 in fast-break points.
Keslyn Secrist added 13 points and Mia Simpson 10 for ISU, while Halle Vice scored 20 to lead four Marquette players in double figures.
Now 2-5, Indiana State plays Friday at Eastern Illinois. Marquette won its fifth in a row and is 5-2 going into a Sunday afternoon home game against Illinois State.
