A lot of the chatter around the Class of 2027 in basketball — and other sports — centers around how there will be fewer spots available for players with the adoption of the NCAA’s new age-based eligbility rules. The vast majority of 2026-27 college athletes will have another year of eligibility. Syracuse’s roster only has one player on it — who is currently not eligible to play — that will run out of eligibility after the season.
Thus, the 2027 class has seen some fascinating storylines already. Visit schedules for top 50-75 recruits that look more like visit schedules for top 200-250 recruits have become commonplace. But for Syracuse’s first commitment, Jack Donohue, the opposite may be true. He was a player that Gerry McNamara had been recruiting at Siena before taking the job at Syracuse. Donohue, who hails from Albany, played for NJ Shoreshots on the Under Armour circuit this summer, and will play his second season at The Newman School in Boston before coming to the Hill.

But he’s not the only prospect that the Orange are looking at. Here is a look at the 2027s that Syracuse has an eye on.
Ahmed Nur – F
The 6-foot-9 Nur is visiting Syracuse this week. Nur is ranked 26th in the Field of 68’s Class of 2027 rankings and played the summer season with Wisconsin-based Power 5 on the Adidas circuit. He transferred this summer from Hopkins High School in Minnesota to Bella Vista Prep in Arizona, where he’ll play for one of the nation’s top programs.
Nur has taken visits to Purdue, Minnesota and Mississippi, and has visits scheduled to Texas and Washington as well.

Moussa Kamissoko – F
Kiyan Anthony’s former LuHi teammate Moussa Kamissoko will visit Syracuse next week, September 3 and 4. The 6-foot-8 forward is ranked consistently within the top 20 on most recruiting sites. He’s played with New York-based PSA Cardinals on the Nike circuit over the last few summers.
Syracuse is one of nine programs that Kamissoko has scheduled a visit to. The other eight are Illinois, Louisville, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Virginia, BYU, UConn, and Florida State.
Ian Condon – F
Condon is set to visit Syracuse next week, September 1 and 2. The 6-foot-7 wing starred for Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. last season, and starred again in the summer for Team Melo in EYBL. Condon ranks 89th in 247’s rankings and 62nd at the Field of 68.

Condon shot over 44% from 3 (per Synergy) at Sidwell last season, and then drilled 36% of his 135 three-point attempts on the circuit this summer. At 220 pounds, he combines his outside shooting with a physical frame.
He has visits scheduled with Boston College, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and is looking to schedule one with NC State.
Devin Cleveland – G
Cleveland doesn’t have a Syracuse visit scheduled, but the Orange were listed in his top seven flast month. The 6-foot-3 guard from Chicago plays for La Lumiere in Indiana, and played with Brad Beal Elite on the EYBL circuit over the summer. Cleveland averaged 16.6 points and 2.5 assists per game this summer.

He listed Syracuse in his top 7 with Alabama, Marquette, Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri, and TCU last month, and has scheduled visits to Alabama, TCU, Missouri, and Michigan.
Carson Crawford – F
After winning Peach Jam alongside No. 1 prospect Cayden Daughtry with Florida Rebels, the 6-foot-6 Crawford announced that Syracuse made his top five schools. A wing from Fleming Island HS in Florida, Crawford ranks 65th in 247’s rankings and 56th at the Field of 68.
Crawford averaged just 8.6 points per game this summer, as Daughtry did most of the scoring for the Rebels, but grabbed 7.8 rebounds per contest.

Syracuse is listed alongside Mississippi, Arizona State, Providence, and Florida State in Crawford’s top five. Inside the Loud House reported that he is planning to visit Syracuse this fall.
Nasir Anderson – G
Anderson is ranked as a top 10 prospect in the class by 247Sports. He’s a tier two PG in the class (tier 1 is Beckham Black and Cayden Daughtry). He led Prolific Prep with 5.1 assists per game last season, feeding top 2026 prospects Caleb Holt (Arizona) and Bruce Branch (BYU).
After playing the summer with Atlanta Celtics on the Adidas circuit, he named Syracuse in his top 10 schools. Indiana, Providence, North Carolina, Kentucky, UConn, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida are the other nine schools on the list.
Notable: Syracuse had a visit scheduled with DMV guard J’Lon Lyons, but Lyons committed to Butler on Tuesday.
We’ll keep an eye on updates as the recruiting cycle heads toward signing day.
