Tagir Ulanbekov met the media Saturday after his win over Azat Maksum at UFC on ABC 8.
Ulanbekov (17-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Maksum (15-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) put on an entertaining flyweight scrap on the UFC on ABC 8 prelims in the promotion’s debut in Azerbaijan. Ulanbekov was a 5-1 favorite in the fight.
With four straight wins in the division, Ulanbekov told the UFC he thinks he’s ready to take on the champion right now. But that means he’ll be paying close attention to Saturday’s UFC 317 flyweight title fight between Alexandre Pantoja and challenger Kai Kara-France.
