On Sunday, Florida State women’s basketball (10-2, 1-0 ACC) was unstoppable at Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles ran through Drexel (3-4), 101-51.
The Dragons were no match against the nation’s top scorer, Ta’Niya Latson, as she dropped 32 points and seven assists. She was 13 for 20 in shooting, including making 3 of her 5 3-pointers.
It is the junior’s third straight game 30-point game. She also moved to fourth in career points in program history with 1,660, surpassing Tia Paschal (1990-93).
FSU shot 57.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc. Three more Seminoles also reached double figures.
Sydney Bowles came off the bench and dropped 14 points. O’Mariah Gordon and Makayla Timpson tied for 12. Timpson also had 10 rebounds, marking her 37th career double-double, four away from tying FSU’s record.
On the defensive end, the Seminoles recorded 16 steals, the second-highest total this season. Latson and Gordon tied for four each. However, the Dragons only shot 33 percent from the field.
The Seminoles will host Jacksonville (6-4) on Thursday at 6 p.m. to complete their nonconference schedule.
