Our expert panel reacts to the biggest, and latest headlines in MMA.
Check out this week’s “Spinning Back Clique,” MMA Junkie’s weekly live show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.
This week’s panel of Farah Hannoun, Brian “Goze” Garcia and Danny Segura will join host “Gorgeous” George Garcia live at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) to discuss and debate the following topics:
- UFC on ESPN 71 saw Tatsuro Taira bounce back from his first loss and re-establish himself as a flyweight title contender. Taira submitted late replacement HyunSung Park in the second-round of their main event bout. We break down Taira’s victory and what it means for the flyweight division, along with other key results from the card.
- PFL had its first round of tournament finals this past Friday. Thad Jean outpointed veteran Logan Storley to win the 2025 welterweight title, and Movlid Khaybulaev submitted Jesus Pinedo to claim the featherweight tournament belt. Each also took home a $500,000 prize. What’s next for the winners and losers? We react to the championship results.
- There’s always plenty going on in the MMA world. Outside of fight results, this past week, UFC star Conor McGregor re-entered the anti-doping testing pool, opening the door for a potential return. He also failed to reverse the decision of a civil rape and sexual assault trial in Ireland, which again has put forth McGregor’s long history of troubles outside the cage. In the sporting side of things, UFC heavyweight contender Martin Buday was surprisingly released from the promotion after going 7-1 in the company, and top light heavyweights Dominick Reyes and Carlos Ulberg were booked to headline UFC Perth in September. We react and break down the latest news in MMA.
- To close out the show, we look forward to this coming Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 72 event in Las Vegas. We analyze the middleweight main event between Roman Dolidze and Anthony Hernandez, along with other key bouts on the card.
