Tennessee basketball offers top-rated, five-star combo guard

Tennessee is already working to assemble its 2026 basketball recruiting class. The Vols offered a scholarship to five-star combo guard Ikenna Alozie on Saturday.

“I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Alozie said. “Go Volunteers!!”

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect is from Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Arizona. 247Sports rates Alozie as the best combo guard in the class of 2026 and the No. 2 player in Arizona. He is a five-star in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Akron was the first program to offer Alozie a scholarship on June 22, 2023. Additional Power Five programs to offer a scholarship to Alozie include Arizona State, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Providence, UCLA, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Georgetown, Villanova, Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia, BYU, Louisville, Kentucky and Arizona.

Tennessee does not have any commitments for its 2026 basketball recruiting class. The Vols have five commitments for their 2025 basketball recruiting class: Forward DeWayne Brown, small forward Amari Evans, point guard Troy Henderson, forward Nate Ament and shooting guard Clarence Massamba.
