Tennessee football receives commitment from 2026 defensive lineman over ACC school

Tennessee added a prospect to its 2026 football recruiting class.

Four-star Dereon Albert committed to the Vols over North Carolina on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2, 305-pound prospect is from Jackson Academy in Jackson, Mississippi. 2026 Tennessee linebacker commitment TJ White is Albert’s teammate at Jackson Academy.

247Sports ranks Albert as the No. 28 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 8 player in Mississippi. He is a multi-sport athlete. Albert competes in discus and shot put.

Tennessee offered him a scholarship on Aug. 23, 2023. He officially visited to Tennessee on June 13.

With both Albert and White’s decisions, Tennessee has 15 commitments in its 2026 football recruiting class. Tennessee’s other 13 commitments include quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman CJ Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety KJ McClain, safety Luke Thompson, defensive end Kedric Golston II, offensive lineman Edward Baker, wide receiver Zaydyn Anderson and quarterback Legend Bey.

Linebacker JP Peace is Tennessee’s first 2027 football commitment.
