Tennessee State football looks to snap a two-game losing streak when it faces No. 11 Tennessee Tech, which is tied with Presbyterian with the longest win streak in the FCS at eight games.

Tech defeated TSU 24-14 on Sept. 21 in 2024 and then ended the season by beating its last five opponents. That left the Golden Eagles (3-0) tied with Tennessee State, Southeast Missouri and UT Martin for the Big South/Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship.
While TSU (1-2), SEMO and UT Martin earned FCS national playoff berths, Tech was left out.
TSU is under first-year coach Reggie Barlow and Tech is under second-year coach Bobby Wilder.
Tech leads the nation in scoring averaging 60.7 points per game and is third in total offense averaging 553.0 yards. TSU is 84th nationally in scoring defense (34.3 points) and 75th in total defense (396.7 yards).
Tennessee State running back Kendric Rhymes (1) celebrates his touchdown against Alabama A&M during the second quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025.
The Tigers may have an edge in rushing with Southern transfer Kendric Rhymes, who is 10th nationally in average yards per game (109.3). Rhymes’ backup Zack Simmons-Brown, a freshman, had his best game on Sept. 13 against Alabama A&M when he rushed for 75 yards on nine carries and a touchdown.
