As the Texas A&M Aggies prepare for another daunting road test against a Southeastern Conference foe, the program’s odds of reaching the College Football Playoff continue to increase after the first 7-0 start since 1994.
Head coach Mike Elko will look to lead his squad to the school’s first victory in Death Valley over the LSU Tigers in 31 years in Week 9. To accomplish that feat, it will require another impressive outing and a plethora of improvements on defense, after giving up 42 points to interim head coach Bobby Petrino and the Arkansas Razorbacks in last Saturday’s outing. As this team ventures throughout the remainder of the 2025 schedule, the adversity of facing league opponents will only intensify in the pursuit of the school’s first playoff appearance.

However, the road to the CFP is far from over. There are still various daunting tasks, including road tests against the Missouri Tigers and the Lone Star Showdown at Texas, still on Texas A&M’s conference docket.
