What a game that was!
Texas A&M (17-4, 7-1 SEC) made another emphatic statement on Saturday afternoon after defeating Georgia on the road 92-77 in a game that quickly got out of hand after the Aggies went on an unthinkable 20-2 run to pull way ahead early in the first half, led by an offense that was as balanced as first-year head coach Bucky McMillan could ask for.

Led by star forward Rashaun Agee’s 10th double-double of the season, the senior finished with a game-high 18 points and 15 rebounds, including a 6-6 showing at the free-throw line; his two three-pointers were also a season-high. However, fellow senior guard Marcus Hill’s 7-for-9, 15-point performance was highly impressive, as he scored six of his seven points under the basket. Five players scored in double figures.
Keeping a ten-plus point lead for most of the first half, including a 51-41 advantage before halftime, the Aggies shot an efficient 43% from the field, and 38% from beyond the arc, while senior guard Pop Isaacs, who was a vital piece during several of A&M’s runs, scored 11 points including three three-pointers to keep the Bulldogs at bay.
Even more important, Texas A&M kept pace with Georgia on the boards, holding a 24-22 rebounding advantage, and finishing the game with 46 rebounds, including 14 offensive rebounds that led to critical second-half scoring opportunities, especially when the Aggies’ lead trickled down to single digits.
After Georgia made several runs in the second half, McMillan had to rely on his bench to keep the Aggies in front, leading to senior guard Ali Dibba’s best showing of the year thus far with 15 points, including three three-pointers, paired with a block and steal in 19 minutes off the bench.

Texas A&M’s discipline on defense and late-game shot selection essentially ended the game with over 3 minutes remaining, as the Aggies milked the clock and continued to hit their free throws, finishing an elite 19-20 from the stripe. With Saturday’s 92-point outing, Texas A&M is 10-0 on the year, winning when scoring over 90 points.
Texas A&M will stay atop the SEC at 7-1 no matter what, and should be ranked in the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 by this time next week.
