Texas A&M land commitment from Colorado transfer defensive lineman

by

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has secured another impact piece for the future of his defensive front, pulling a high-upside defensive tackle out of the Big 12 and away from Deion “Prime” Sanders’ Colorado program.

On Monday, Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports reported that Colorado freshman transfer Brandon Davis‑Swain committed to Texas A&M. The former four-star prospect chose the Aggies over several other programs and arrives in College Station with three years of eligibility remaining.

Davis‑Swain was one of the bright spots on Colorado’s defense as a redshirt freshman, starting eight games and appearing in nine. He flashed disruptive traits throughout the season, finishing with 15 tackles, three QB hurries, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and a pass deflection.

His breakout moment came against West Virginia, where he posted four tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble—earning PFF Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Week honors.

This is exactly the type of transfer Elko and his staff have targeted for the program’s growth: young, talented, developmental players who already possess meaningful experience but haven’t yet reached their ceiling. With the departures of veteran defensive tackles Albert Regis and Tyler Onyedim, Davis‑Swain is expected to compete immediately for significant snaps in 2026 and beyond.

His blend of size, motor, and versatility fits seamlessly into Elko’s defensive vision, and he arrives at a position of clear need.
