Texas A&M Steals Top CB From Illinois in Stunning Commitment Flip

After evaluating the team and having multiple stand out players shine during Texas A&M’s Maroon and White game earlier today, the Aggies have officially made one of their biggest additions of the offseason.

Following the Aggies’ spring game, head coach Mike Elko and his staff announced that elite cornerback Victor Singleton has flipped his commitment from Illinois to Texas A&M. The 6’0”, 165 pound CB should prove to be a major addition for the Aggies, as the corner position has been an area lacking major depth in recent years. The Toledo, Ohio native was committed to Illinois since early February, and officially announced the flip after taking multiple visits to College Station. The four star recruit is currently ranked as the No. 5 cornerback and the No. 57 overall player from the 2026 recruiting class. Singleton is ranked as the No. 1 player out of the state of Ohio as well.

After originally holding a total of 29 scholarship offers, Singleton ultimately chose the Aggies over multiple powerhouse programs such as Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Illinois and Oregon. With Singleton officially on board, Mike Elko and his coaching staff now have a total of ten verbal commitments in Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class.

With the addition of Singleton, the Aggies continue to add hope to an already bright future. Texas A&M currently ranks as the No. 5 2026 recruiting class in the nation, led by future stars such as 5 star WR Aaron Gregory and 4 star RB Jonathan Hatton Jr.
