One game after claiming its first SEC win of the season with a rousing upset of Ole Miss, Texas A&M women’s basketball fell short against one of the best teams in the country Thursday night.
South Carolina, ranked No. 2 in both USA TODAY coaches poll and AP Top 25, dominated A&M at home, 90-49.
Sole Williams was the only Aggie to score in double figures, notching 10 points. A&M shot just 28.4% from the field and 15.4% from 3-point range. Six South Carolina players finished with 10 points or more, led by Joyce Edwards who had a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double.
South Carolina’s were 15-for-18 from the free-throw line and the Aggies were just 5-for-8.
Up next for A&M is a road game Sunday against Oklahoma.
