With only one game left in the 2025 campaign, the Texas Longhorns are starting to shift their focus to the future. On Sunday, Steve Sarkisian and his staff extended an offer to Georgia recruit Keyon Standifer. The talented cornerback has caught the eye of some of the nation’s top programs and could now have a future in Austin.
As the Longhorns look to secure a commitment from Standifer, they will have competition. During the recruiting process, he has also received offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, and Indiana. The heavy interest is partly due to the fact that he can impact a game in multiple ways.
During his high school career, the Georgia native has recorded 35 total tackles and seven interceptions. He has also added two pass breakups to his resume. When the Athens Academy star isn’t shining on defense, he has also been a human highlight reel on offense. In his first two high school seasons, Standifer hauled in 70 receptions for 1,863 receiving yards.

Currently, Standifer is ranked as the 84th best player from Georgia in the 2027 class by 247Sports. He is also ranked as the 111th receiver best player in his class. Due to his ability to play multiple positions, Standifer could be a very Swiss army knife at the next level. His rankings should improve his senior season next year.
Although the Longhorns still have a few holes to fill, they have gotten an early start on their 2027 class. They have already secured commitments from three players, including four-star wide receiver Easton Royal. That list should continue to grow as the Longhorns look to build a championship roster.
Over the next few months, it will be interesting to see if the Longhorns can flip Standifer. While it will not be easy to pry him away from the Yellow Jackets, the Longhorns hope that Standifer’s football future includes time in the Forty Acres.
