The Texas Longhorns are on a roll right now with their recruiting, and they’re riding the momentum well.
The Texas Longhorns aren’t making major headlines in recruiting, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t recruiting well. They have the No. 10 class in the 2027 recruiting cycle, with potential to finish higher.
They landed four-star DT Kasi Currie and a potential five-star DT in a tight recruiting battle. Texas beat out Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon for Currie. Then they used that momentum to land a commitment from four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror from Mobile, Alabama. He’s ESPN’s No. 1 player in Alabama, No. 4 edge rusher, and No. 49 player in the country.

The craziest part of this recruiting win is the visits he took. Garror, an Alabama native, made 10 visits to Alabama. That’s a lot. He took just one visit, the least of any of the teams he was considering. Maybe that says a lot about how much they are offering him in NIL. Or, maybe it just shows how well they nailed their one visit.

“Pesky edge defender with video game-like production: 42.5 sacks and 88.5 tackles for loss across junior and sophomore seasons. Not the tallest or longest pass rusher, but has plus length in the wingspan and is thick through the torso. Beats blockers with his get-off and agility. Can bend while rounding the corner or cross inside. Very active with the hands and constantly working to slip free.
“Frequently finds energy late and creates negative plays with his effort. Got snaps both on and off the ball as a junior and should bring that same versatility to college as he’s serviceable in drop coverage and could eventually offer interior looks if he keeps growing.
