The Texas Longhorns have converted only four prospects from the class of 2026, earning them No. 12 in On3’s team recruiting rankings. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and management need to add a running back, the search for which might have borne fruit.

The Fort Lauderdale prospect, who already holds official visit dates with Georgia on June 13 and Ohio State on June 20, left Austin impressed after meeting coach Scott and Sarkisian.
“The buzz regarding On3’s No. 3 running back Derrek Cooper has been the strongest for Georgia and Ohio State. It’s picking up with the Longhorns following his first visit.” Steve Wiltfong wrote in a report published Monday.

“My visit was great,” Cooper said. “I got to meet a bunch of coaches such as Coach Scott and Coach Sark. What continues to excite me is the way they will use me in their offense”.
