The latest came on Sunday when five-star EDGE Richard Wesley announced his commitment to Texas via social media. Wesley is ranked the No. 4 edge in the nation and No. 5 overall prospect in California for the 2026 cycle, according to On3’s industry ranking.
“This is for you mom. 10000% committed,” Wesley said.
In 2024, Wesley was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American. He compiled 44 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles for Sierra Canyon High School.
The Chatsworth, California, native was originally committed to Oregon but announced his decommitment on May 27. Wesley then took an official visit to Texas on June 20 and committed to the Longhorns just two days later.
