Four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone from Blue Ridge School in St. George, Virginia, committed to Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs on Friday.

As a member of the 2026 recruiting class, Sone stands 6 feet, 3 inches and weighs 316 pounds. According to his 247Sports profile, other schools fighting for his commitment include Florida, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Kentucky, Nebraska, Florida State and Miami.
Sone picked the Bulldogs after showing his skills at the Navy All-American Bowl in January. He is joining a Bulldogs class ranked No. 2 in the country.
Georgia’s list of commits includes five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko, four-star tight end Kaiden Prothro, four-star safety Jordan Smith and four-star cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick.

Following Sone’s commitment to the Bulldogs, Texas Tech Red Raiders commit Felix Ojo showed his appreciation.
“Georgia really got a real one 🔥🤞🏽,” Ojo commented Friday on an Instagram post of Sone’s commitment.
Ojo, a five-star offensive lineman, committed to the Red Raiders after receiving a fully guaranteed, three-year, $5.1 million NIL deal, according to an ESPN report on July 4. The report noted he picked Texas Tech over Florida, Texas, Ohio State and Michigan.

Ojo joined the Red Raiders’ 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked 30th. Texas Tech’s list of commits is highlighted by four-star cornerback S’Vioarean Martin, four-star cornerback Donovan Webb and three-star edge rusher Tieson Ejiawoko.
