The Ohio State women’s basketball team just added another recruit to its 2026 class. Having recent success with international players such as former forward Rebeka Mikulášiková and current center Elsa Lemmilä, Kevin McGuff went back to Europe to nab his newest playmaker. The Buckeyes gained a commitment from 6-foot forward Adriana Diaz from Spain.
Diaz plays professionally for Movistar Estudiantes Madrid and internationally for Spain’s youth team. While playing for Spain’s U18 team this past season, Diaz averaged 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds across seven games. She has been part of Spain’s youth teams for the past four years. She chose the Buckeyes over Big Ten foe, Michigan State.
Diaz becomes the second 2026 commit for McGuff, joining guard Atlee Vanesko, a four-star prospect. Together, they give OSU 10 players for the 2026 roster. There is a strong possibility that the Buckeyes will still look to add at least one more player, most likely from the transfer portal.

Ohio State returns everyone from a squad that earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, with the exception of Chance Gray and T’Yana Todd, who graduated, and Dasha Biriuk, who entered the transfer portal. With the addition of two more high-profile recruits, the Buckeyes will hope to improve on a successful season that ended with a second-round upset to Notre Dame.
