Should Matt Rempe be in the New York Rangers’ lineup?
Through the past couple of weeks, the Rangers have struggled, losing eight of their past 11 games.
It’s clear when watching this team that the Rangers are just playing without an identity and even a lack of urgency at times.
A player the likes of Rempe could certainly help change that.
Rempe may not be the most skilled player on the ice, but he brings an energy that is unique and incredibly valuable.
When he was called up last season, the young enforcer brought an excitement to New York, something the Rangers could use right now.
The way Rempe finished off all of his hits, the constant fights that he would get into and overall physical style of play electrified the fans at Madison Square Garden.
Peter Laviolette doesn’t even need to give Rempe a huge role or anything, but even in a limited amount of minutes, he has the ability to give the Rangers a spark and could help the team find their identity.
Players on the Rangers are going through a lot right now as Jacob Trouba was traded to the Anaheim Ducks and they can use Rempe in the locker room to give them a boost of morale.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and Laviolette needs to at least give Rempe another chance.
