A third Iowa women’s basketball guard announced intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Sophomore Callie Levin revealed on Monday evening that she is departing the Hawkeyes‘ program after two seasons in Iowa City. The 5-foot-9 guard from Solon High School appeared in 29 career games, scoring 25 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, dishing 15 assists and registering nine steals over her two seasons in the black and gold.

Levin was the 2024 Miss Iowa Basketball after a standout career at Solon, where she scored 1,984 career points, and totaled 535 rebounds, 412 assists and 417 steals during her prep career. In her senior season, Levin averaged 22.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4.5 assists per game.
“It’s a bittersweet day… ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamt of playing basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes. The ringing of my name in Carver-Hawkeye Arena after hitting my first shot was everything I expected and more. It’s been one of the greatest honors to wear the black and gold and represent my home state. I’m so grateful that the Iowa coaches gave me this opportunity.

To my teammates, who have become my closest friends, I will forever appreciate the amazing memories that we made together on and off the court, especially the times we were able to grow our faith together.

“Although my dream was to spend my career playing basketball in the black and gold, sometimes in life we have to pivot and change course to reach our goals. Therefore, I will be entering the transfer portal. Thank you Hawkeye Nation for the past two years. I will always be a Hawkeye at heart,” Levin wrote in her announcement.
Levin joins Addie Deal and Kennise Johnson as Hawkeyes that have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal.
