Better to be safe than sorry …

The fighters were Curtis Blaydes, Josh Hokit, and Azamat Murzakanov.
Blaydes and Hokit, who delivered the Fight of the Year (so far) — and one of the most memorable Heavyweight bouts in recent UFC history — were both taken for precautionary CT scans of the head and face following a brutal three-round war.
Hokit ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory.
Here is Hokit in the ambulance.
Hokit (9-0) improves to 3-0 inside the Octagon and is expected to surge into the top tier of the Heavyweight division after defeating the No. 5-ranked contender. He also punched his ticket to the upcoming UFC White House card, where he is slated to face two-time title challenger Derrick Lewis (details here).

As for Blaydes (19-6), the loss continues a frustrating trend of alternating wins and losses in recent years. Despite notable wins over Jailton Almeida and Tom Aspinall, he has now suffered setbacks against Aspinall (rematch), Sergei Pavlovich, and now the unranked Hokit.
Murzakanov (16-1) was also transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face after suffering a third-round knockout loss to Paulo Costa. The Russian exited the cage on a stretcher following the defeat.
The loss marked the first of Murzakanov’s professional career, snapping a 16-fight win streak that included six victories inside the UFC over names like Aleksandar Rakic, Brendson Ribeiro, and Dustin Jacoby.

At this time, the results of all three fighters’ medical evaluations have not been disclosed.
It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
