Three fighters transported to hospital following violent UFC Abu Dhabi card

Better to be safe than sorry …

Following UFC Abu Dhabi last night (Sat., July 26, 2025), inside Etihad Arena in United Arab Emirates, sources confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were transported to the local hospital on “Fight Island” for precautionary reasons following their fights.

Mohammad Yahya was transported to the hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following a brutal beatdown by Steven Nguyen. Nguyen knocked down Yahya six times — setting a UFC single-fight knockdown record in the process — before the referee stopped the fight (watch highlights).

To everyone’s surprise, UFC broadcaster, John Gooden, announced during the event that Yahya suffered no facial fractures and his CT scan came back clear.

Unfortunately for Yahya, his winless record (0-3) in UFC may jeopardize his future with the promotion.

UFC women’s Strawweight, Amanda Ribas, was transported to the hospital for an x-ray of her eye after Tabatha Ricci landed a brutal elbow to Ribas’ eye socket, which made her drop, and Ricci jumped on her for the finish (watch highlights).

Ribas revealed via social media that she will need surgery on her face.

Ribas is on a three-fight losing streak and has been finished in her last two fights.

Last, and certainly not least, UFC’s one-eyed Middleweight, Shara Magomedov, was shipped to the hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face (including his severely broken nose).

Shara “Bullet” scored a unanimous decision victory over Marc-Andre Barriault, earning them the “Fight of the Night” award for their bloody battle.

The results of his scan are currently unknown, but his nose was reset at the hospital.

It is not a rare occurrence for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles full of damage.
