Tieson Ejiawoko sets date for official Texas visit

by

As the Longhorns look to add to their defense, they will host one of the top recruits in the 2026 class this summer. On Thursday, LB Tieson Ejiawoko announced that he would take an official visit to Austin from June 13-15. While he is committed to Texas Tech, the Longhorns are not giving up in their pursuit.

The Texas native is ranked as the No. 424 overall player and the 34th best linebacker in his class by 247Sports.com. Due to his potential, Ejiawoko has also gotten offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Oregon State, UNLV, and Washington.

For the Red Raiders, holding onto Ejiawoko will be key to replenishing their depth. Jacob Rodriguez, who led the team in tackles, is entering the final season of his college career. In 2026, his partner in crime, Ben Roberts, who has 190 total tackles in his first two seasons as a starter, will be out of eligibility.

When Ejiawoko visits Austin, the Longhorns hope to convince him that Austin will be the best place for the next step of his college career. They have had success developing linebackers, which will be a plus. Texas still has a shot with it being early in the recruiting cycle.

Over the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see how the Longhorns’ pursuit of Ejiawoko goes. They still have a lot of holes to fill in their 2026 class, and Ejiawoko would be a solid piece. As a sophomore, he flashed his potential with 60 tackles and three sacks.

If the Longhorns can add Ejiawoko, they would get a big win early in the recruiting trail.
