Tom Izzo takes blame for IU loss, previews Illinois matchup

by

Michigan State basketball picked up its worst loss of the season earlier this week, and head coach Tom Izzo is blaming himself for it.

Izzo met with the media on Thursday, and one of the things he talked about was his Spartans’ inability to beat Indiana’s zone defense. Izzo noted that the Hoosiers hadn’t play much zone defense this season, and essentially caught the Spartans off guard when they made the switch halfway through the first half.

Michigan State’s loss to Indiana on Tuesday could have a massive negative effect on the Spartans’ chances of winning the Big Ten regular season title. The Spartans are now 19-5 overall and 10-3 in Big Ten play.

The Spartans will look to rebound from that disappointing home loss earlier this week, with a tough road game at Illinois on Saturday night. Hear what Izzo had to say about that upcoming matchup and more about the loss to Indiana in the video below.
