Top 5 photos from Virginia football’s week one win against Coastla Carolina

The Virginia Cavaliers put on a dominant win on Saturday against Coastal Carolina to kick off their 2025 campaign. After a relatively slow start on offense, the ‘Hoos seemed to click from late in the first quarter right up until the clock struck zero to end the game.

There were many highlights from the 48-7 clinic that Virginia put on, and we were on the field capturing all of them through the lens. Here are my top five shots from last night’s victory:

1. Cam Ross in his natural habitat

Cam Ross took a kickoff 100 yards to the house last night and accounted for 224 all-purpose yards. His return set a program record for the longest one in school history.

2. The First Huddle

This captures the first time Virginia’s new look offense surrounded QB Chandler Morris in a huddle.

3. QB1

Chandler Morris was everything UVA fans had hoped he would be. He threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the contest. Morris left the game early in the third quarter with an apparent shoulder injury, but Tony Elliott says he is “hopeful” about Morris’ status for next week.

4. Special Players, Special Teams

A blocked punt, three punts over fifty yards, and a kickoff return for a touchdown. Virginia’s special teams IS a strength this year, and Keith Gaither, special teams coordinator, is hyped about it.

5. That 1-0 Feeling

This was all UVA fans yesterday. A stress-free victory to start the season is always welcome. Virginia will look to repeat that next week in Raleigh against NC State.
