TRENDING RUMORS

Manchester United will increase their offer for Patrick Dorgu to EURO37-38m in an effort to get the deal over the line for the defender this week, according to Nicolo Schira. Lecce are asking for a fee of EURO40m for the 20-year-old left wingback, and have so far rebuffed United’s bids of £23m and £28m. However, United are hopeful their increased bid will secure the switch, and they already have an agreement in principle with the full-back for a five-year deal. Lecce are already believed to have found a replacement for Dorgu in Danilo Veiga from Portuguese club Estrela Amadora.

– Arsenal are hoping to beat Manchester City and a host of other Premier League clubs to the signing of Rosenborg attacking midfielder Sverre Nypan, according to Talksport. The 18-year-old has been described as “the next Martin Odegaard,” and has become one of the most sought-after teenagers in European football.

Nypan was spotted at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday watching City’s victory over Chelsea, and though he shares the same agent as Erling Haaland. Arsenal are believed to be frontrunners for his signature. Girona, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in the Norwegian.

– Chelsea have made Bournemouth’s in-form defensive star Dean Huijsen their top target in the January transfer window, according to the Sun. The 19-year-old central defender has been in fine form for the Cherries since his move from Juventus last summer, forming part of a central pairing alongside Illia Zabarnyi that has conceded just nine goals in the last 11 games. The Dutch-born Spanish international has also scored two goals in his 17 appearances so far this season.

OTHER RUMORS

Liverpool are considering fast-tracking a move for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato in the January transfer window, according to Teamtalk. The Reds were looking to make a move for Hato in the summer, but they could be forced into action as a result of interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea. Hato is out of contract at the end of the season, and Liverpool are already sweating on the futures of both Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander Arnold.

– Defender Renato Veiga is believed to have landed in Turin ahead of a loan move to Juventus from Chelsea this week, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Portuguese Under-21 star was pictured by Romano boarding a plane, and is expected to undergo a medical on Monday morning ahead of a switch until the end of the season. The 21-year-old centre-back will provide much-needed cover for the Bianconeri in the centre of defence.

Brazil superstar Neymar is closing in on a return to former club Santos, sources have told ESPN.

Neymar currently remains on the books of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, but the team’s manager Jorge Jesus said earlier in January that the Brazilian attacker can “no longer play at the level we are used to,” and as a result wasn’t registered to play in the Saudi Pro League, leaving Neymar eligible to play only in the Asian Champions League. As a consequence, Neymar has been looking for his next playing opportunity, and appears to have found it with the club at which he began his professional career.
