Week 8 of the 2025 college football season is here, and that means my Big Ten football predictions are back! Each week this season, I will be making my predictions for every Big Ten football game. These picks are not against the spread, but rather straight up which team I think will win.
This week, we have eight conference games, plus a massive nonconference rivalry showdown between USC and Notre Dame. Let’s dive into the action:

Nebraska over Minnesota (Friday)
Nebraska doesn’t let the rumors surrounding head coach Matt Rhule and the Penn State job distract them this week, at least.
Michigan over Washington
How has it been less than two years since these two programs faced off in the national championship game? It feels like at least a decade ago.
Northwestern over Purdue
It is very possible that the only two people to actually watch this game will be my sister, who went to Northwestern, and her roommate, who went to Purdue. Jessica, this pick is for you.
Ohio State over Wisconsin
It feels as though Luke Fickell’s time in Madison is coming to an end. Ohio State legitimately might win this game by 70 points.

Michigan State over Indiana
Will Indiana be able to handle the pressure that comes along with being a top five team? I am not sure, but they should be able to handle Michigan State regardless.
Oregon over Rutgers
Had Oregon beaten Indiana last week, this cross-country trip would have trap game written all over it. But with the Ducks coming off of a loss, they should have plenty of motivation for this one.
Iowa over Penn State
Will the coaching change re-energize Penn State? Or will this week bring yet another disaster for the Nittany Lions?
UCLA over Maryland
UCLA might . . . be kind of good?
Notre Dame over USC
I really hope that this is not the last time that I get to pick this game. Extend the series.
