Tuesday Headlines: Kentucky Basketball’s growing list of visitors

by

Kentucky basketball head coach Mark Pope is on an absolute tear with the 2026 recruiting class.

Of the top 25 players set to play college basketball in 2026, Pope and his staff have made an offer to 18 of them.

That list includes 9 of the top 10 and 15 of the top 20.

Maximo Adams may be just outside that threshold as the No. 40 recruit in his class but has also received an offer from UK and recently scheduled a visit to Kentucky that is coming up pretty soon.

Adams will be on Kentucky’s campus the weekend of September 5th-6th for his official visit.

Standing 6-7, 205 pounds, Adams is a four-star prospect from California and is receiving high interest from Duke, Kansas, Michigan State, North Carolina and Texas.

It’s clear Pope is focused on the journey for the right to hang Kentucky’s ninth championship banner this upcoming season but is exerting the same amount of energy in building out the UK basketball program for years to come.
