Two fighters transported to the hospital following ultra violent UFC Vegas 114 card

Better to be safe than sorry …

Following UFC Vegas 114 last night (Sat., March 14, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, promotion officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that two fighters were transported to a local “Sin City” hospital for precautionary reasons after sustaining damage in their respective bouts.

The fighters were Steven Asplund and Harry Hardwick.

Asplund (7-2) was taken in for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following a grueling three-round battle with Vitor Petrino, which he lost via unanimous decision. The bout was a back-and-forth brawl early, with Asplund dropping Petrino in the opening round before eventually fading as the fight wore on.

“Concrete” saw his four-fight win streak snapped, but he didn’t lose much stock in defeat. The Heavyweight prospect was ultra-competitive against a former Top-15-ranked fighter and continues to build a fanbase thanks to his entertaining fighting style and colorful personality.

Hardwick (13-5-1), meanwhile, was transported to the hospital for precautionary CT scans of his head, face, and jaw following a potential “Fight of the Year” contender against UFC newcomer Marwan Rahiki. The bout was halted between rounds after Hardwick suffered a broken jaw in the second frame.

“Houdini” is now 0-2 inside the Octagon, having been stopped in both appearances. Hardwick will likely be sidelined for six to nine months while recovering from the injury, though his willingness to engage in a wild brawl with Rahiki likely keeps him in the UFC’s good graces.

At this time, the results of both fighters’ scans have not been disclosed.

It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
