Senior guard Darlinstone Dubar and freshman guard Bishop Boswell did not participate in Tennessee basketball practice Thursday in advance of UT’s season opener.

Dubar was unavailable due to a personal matter and Boswell is in concussion protocol.

The No. 12 Vols open the regular season against Gardner-Webb on Monday (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network+). Tennessee lost 66-62 on Sunday in a charity exhibition against No. 18 Indiana.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Dubar averaged 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 39.9% on 3-pointers as a senior at Hofstra last season. Dubar was named second-team All-Coastal Athletic Association. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native began his career at Iowa State.

Dubar is averaging 11.7 points and shooting 38.1% on 3-pointers in his career.

Dubar played six minutes against Indiana. He missed his only field-goal attempt and committed two fouls.

Boswell, a Charlotte (North Carolina) Myers Park product, was a four-star recruit in the 2024 class. He was UT’s lone signee in the class. Boswell picked UT over Georgia, Missouri, Wake Forest and Xavier.
